Empowering students through Biblically grounded, academic excellence
Mission Statement
At Appalachia Christian Academy, our mission is to develop spiritually mature, intellectually rigorous, culturally discerning young adults who can defend their faith, articulate truth clearly, and pursue their calling with excellence.
Statement of Faith
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God. We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Our Foundations
Educational Philosophy
Appalachia Christian Academy operates on the conviction that all truth is God's truth, and therefore, education cannot be separated from a biblical worldview. Our educational philosophy is rooted in the classical tradition, emphasizing the development of critical thinking, clear communication, and a love for learning. We believe that the ultimate goal of education is not merely the acquisition of knowledge, but the cultivation of wisdom and virtue. By integrating faith into every subject, from mathematics to literature, we prepare students to understand the world as God created it and to engage with their culture from a position of strength and moral integrity.
The Role of the Christian Family in Education
The Appalachia Christian Academy recognizes that the primary responsibility for the education and upbringing of children rests with their parents. Our model is designed to support, not replace, the family unit. We believe that when the home, the church, and the school work together in harmony, students are most effectively equipped to grow in wisdom and stature. This partnership ensures that the values taught in the classroom are reinforced at home, creating a consistent and powerful environment for both academic success and spiritual maturity.
Biblical Foundation for Christian Education
The foundation of our educational approach is the immutable Word of God. We believe that all truth is God's truth, and therefore, every subject must be taught through the lens of a biblical worldview. Education is not merely the transmission of information, but the formation of the soul. By anchoring our curriculum in Scripture, we ensure that students develop a coherent understanding of the world, their place in it, and their responsibility to their Creator and community.
Vision for Students and Families
The vision of Appalachia Christian Academy is to see our students grow into men and women of God who are equipped with a robust Christian worldview, academic vigor, and the character to influence their communities and the world for Christ.
We partner with families to cultivate a legacy of faith, stewardship, and lifelong learning, ensuring that the roots of a biblical education bear fruit in every area of their lives and future endeavors.
Overview of the Academy Model
