About Our Curriculum

Our approach is rooted in the belief that parents are the primary instructors, called by God to direct their children's education. Appalachia Christian Academy exists to provide the professional oversight, documentation, and Christ-centered community necessary to succeed in this mission. We advocate for a mastery-based, biblically grounded model where families have the flexibility to tailor instruction to each student's unique pace and needs, all while remaining under the protective umbrella of our academic support and accreditation guidance.

A Curriculum That Fits Your Family

At Appalachia Christian Academy, we believe parents are the best primary instructors for their children.  As part of Appalachia Christian Academy's tuition, we include your student's curriclum.

ACA serves as your partner in this journey, offering guidance, planning assistance, and a wealth of suggestions to ensure your home education meets high standards of academic excellence while remaining biblically grounded. We provide the oversight and documentation you need, while you provide the heart and daily instruction.

Academic Focus Areas

Under our homeschool support model, parents lead daily instruction while ACA provides the structural guidance and documentation needed for success. Families can expect a mastery-based approach across these core subject areas.

History (6th-12th)

Students explore the narrative of human history through a providential lens, understanding how God's hand has guided civilizations and events throughout time.

Math (6th-12th)

Mathematics is studied as a reflection of God's orderly nature. Family instruction focuses on logical reasoning and mastery of concepts from foundational arithmetic to advanced calculus.

Science (6th-12th)

The study of science reveals the wonders of creation. Instruction emphasizes observation and the scientific method while affirming a biblical worldview of origins and stewardship.

Language Arts (6th-12th)

Families focus on clear communication through reading, writing, and grammar. Students engage with quality literature to develop discernment and effective expression.

Bible (6th-12th)

Core to our mission, Bible study at home encourages student spiritual growth. Instruction involves Scripture memorization and practical application of biblical truths.

Electives (9th-12th)

Electives offer families the freedom to explore unique interests. Parents select courses in arts, life skills, or technology to tailor each child's educational journey.

Workshops & Enrichment

The Appalachia Christian Academy Homeschool Fellowship serves as a cornerstone for our community, providing a rich array of workshops, enrichment activities, and regular chapel and Bible study sessions. These opportunities are specifically designed to complement your home instruction, fostering spiritual growth and deep social connections among homeschool families. While the Fellowship provides these vital avenues for learning and community, we honor the parent's role as the primary instructor, with daily academic and elective  lessons remaining parent-led at home.
